HP costume designer on dressing Slughorn
From HarryPotterFanZone.com :
Costume designer Jany Temime discussed the challenges involved in dressing Professor Slughorn in a new interview with the LA Times. "Everything we did for his costumes was very rich, but also very used, because he’s not a rich man anymore. He hasn’t worked for a long time. He is a bit of a has-been. But his clothes, even if they were from 20 years ago, were once upon a time, very rich and very glamorous. So we went for 'Old Glamour' when designing... Very pompous, very extreme, very glorious."

The Cusp of Magic
Indulge preoccupation with romance to the fullest extent. Be at your most attractive and you will no doubt have to fight off a swarm of admirers. Be appreciated for your deep emotional orientation. Do not fall prey to illusion; otherwise you risk heartbreak. Give all for love, but beware becoming dangerously addicted to your passion. Do not be hurt emotionally by your own blind intensity.

Harry Potter: The Mystery of the Muggles
*WARNING: SPOILERS IN THIS ARTICLE! Look for the "WARNING!" before the spoiler so, if you are new to HP and haven't read all the books, they won't be spoiled for you.
Welcome to Article 2 of Myth and Mysteries, "Harry Potter: The Mystery of the Muggles". There is a lot of tension between muggles and magic folk in the HP series, most of which is culminated in the first chapter of the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone (hereafter referred to as "PS"). When talking about "The Mystery of the Muggles", we will not be discussing Mr. Weasley's obsession with rubber ducks and plugs. Rather, we will be discussing the mystery behind the muggles who kept their eyes closed, and the worlds that remained separated for hundreds of years.
For those just getting into HP or for those who haven't read it yet at all, a "muggle" is a non-magical person. The Dursleys, who refer to themselves as "perfectly normal thank you very much" are muggles. Muggle parents, however, can still give birth to magical children, i.e. Hermione Granger, Lily Potter, etc...

FOXGLOVE
Digitalis purpurea
Hardiness Zone: 4-8
Soil pH: acid
Height: 4-8 ft. |
Exposure: full sun to partial shade
Soil type: fertile, moist, humusy
Flowers: June & July |
Foxglove is a stunning biennial unmistakable when in bloom. However, during the first year of growth, it appears as just a rosette of green leaves, making it uneasy to spot at this time. Once it blooms, foxglove fits nicely into almost any garden setting.
In 1775, Dr. William Withering closely studied a patient's tea, leading him to deduce that foxglove, which was in the tea, yielded the active principle digitalis. In 1785, Withering published An Account of the Foxglove, which brought the herb to the forefront of medicinal treatments for the heart.
Foxglove can be grown from seed, but the seeds are so tiny, it's best to mix them with sand. Cover them very lightly with soil and keep them continuously moist. You must sow the seeds in late spring or early summer for the plant to be strong enough to survive the winter. Transplant seedlings when they are 2-3 inches tall, allowing 1 ft. between plants. It is also essential to have good drainage to prevent root rot.
Foxglove may be bothered by Japanese beetles or mealy bugs, and is susceptible to mosaic virus, curly top, wilt, anthracnose, and leaf spot.
Warning - Digitalis is far too powerful to be used without medical supervision. It has killed many people who have ingested it. It should be grown for ornamentational use only.
